Children do need some sort of violent entertainment in their life. What would happen if kids not have the opportunity to experience some of the violent things that happen in our world? Which to some that may sound harsh but we certainly don't live in a perfect world, you can't just keep your kids in a confined space forever. An article from cnn.com stated “It’s virtually impossible to keep your kid in a violence free bubble. Ninety percent of movies, 68% of video games and 60% of tv shows show some depiction of violence.” (Caroline Knorr) Yes, there are some ways you can try to control it like blocking certain apps or shows on your television but even with trying to take control into your own hands, they will still experience it or see it in some type of way. I have two younger cousins one is 8 and the other is 11. They are in public schooling, they are a part of extracurricular activities and are always interacting with other kids. Some may be older and others might be younger. Kids hear and see things daily that they shouldn’t but whether they know the right and wrongs of it is weather it has a positive impact on them. They are always on their tablets my uncle only lets them for a certain amount of time but they still are always on them watching and playing their little action games. They’re addicted to their technology; it really is like a drug for kids in our society. Gerald Jones brought up in his article how there are a lot of questions being asked about guns in the media and how they might be connected to real life violence. Shootings and fights are 2 common violent things that have now been turned into a real life violence that children have experienced at school. Most parents worry about the super heros and are the bad guys they see on tv. They don’t want their children to watch them because they think it is too violent and will not have a good impact on the way they will act. In an article from CBS news it stated “Children choose the heros wisely and the fantasies teach the children to trust their own emotions, build stronger selves and withstand the pressures of pop culture.” Not all violence is bad violence and even when it is bad violence it’s something all kids will have to experience or know about. No child will be able to grow up without experiencing or knowing about violence.
